" People say cyclists should have bells on their bicycles - well in Devon we fit Horns!!

There was plenty of weather on this years ride - a moderate dose of everthing!
Some drizzle, rain showers, misty bits, a blustery section, and some lovely autumn sunshine aswell.
- WELL DONE to all riders!!

Soup stop at Lavender House.
"Soup kitchen" welcome at Ashburton.
The weather wasn't to bad, a bit soggy in places, and a bit of buffeting over the hills past Jays Grave and Houndtor ( - I do think Dartmoor is often at it's best in the Baskerville weather!-). The were several minor internal injuries at Lavender House as several beings too eager to sup on the piping hot soup got burnt tongues and lips ( me included!). The drag to Vennford was a slog, and the descent to Huccaby worrying - one or two fell here but not as I was passing! Crossing the moor there was a side wind, - not too bad but a loud crack from my front wheel signalled the final end of my front wheel bearings which should have been changed two years ago. I nursed it to Princetown with lot's of creaking and cracking coming from the hub. With almost 1/4inch of play on the front wheel, riding in a crosswind was interesting. FoxTor Café was doing good trade, with Pippa there and several others drying out.
