Deer Park Lane - 2005

The approximate route leaves Newton Abbot heading North, through Teigngrace and Stover Woods, crossing Drumbridges (A38) and into the Great Plantation.
We then head through Brimley to Lustleigh and along climb up through the Cleave to Hunters Tor, for fine views on a good day.
Descending through to North Bovey we take you through a deep but rideable ford, followed but a lengthy climb back up to Smallhanger, and then descending through to Manaton and on down through Houndtor Woods.
We use the old Railway track to get back into Bovey Tracey, and after a sticky bridlepath near Heathfield, it's a retrace back to Newton Abbot.
That's 48Km done, and for those that wish to you can finish the Dirtette here, but we would encourage you to have refreshments at the Recreational Trust, and then do the final 25Km loop which takes you through lanes and tracks over to Stokeinteignhead, and to "The Beacon" near Shaldon for some seaside viewing.

There is no set speed or time limit for the event, the object is to complete the course safely, but we anticipate everyone returning to the
Recreational Trust by 17.30.
If you can't finsih or you pack in please contact us on 07980-241245 .

PLEASE NOTE:
The event starts and finishes at NEWTON ABBOT
(not Bovey Tracey as indicated in earlier entry forms!)

See map below for directions to recreational trust.

We intend to start the ride in groups, in the hope that by the time riders are on the moors, they will be well split up and spaced out.
