DA 200 miles in 20 hours in 2000.

In the quiet of the night on Saturday 5th August 2000,
7 riders slipped away from the start at Kingskerswell for a 200 mile excursion
to Bristol & back. It was a balmy night, with temperatures around
16 degC, they were soon riding in shorts and tops, past the illuminated
Powderham Castle to a deserted Exeter, and on through Cullompton & Bridgwater.......

Sustenance stop at the Esso garage in Bridgwater which was suffering intermittent power cuts, but it stayed on long enough for us to get Coffee, 3.30am |

The home run. We passed South of Taunton,- lunch at Wellington, and this is Cowley near Exeter with time in hand.

Four all finished, L-R. Mike Hunting, Graham Brodie, David Johnstone, Henry Foxland. Mark Willams, Chris Bennett and Richard Weaving were the other three. All finished with time in hand. |
