Torbay Boundary Ride (swim?) - 2000

Sunday 13th, August , 2000.
Probably one of the wettest Sundays of the year. Undeterred 10 stalwarts set off to beat the bounds of Torbay, a 35mile lumpy circuit.

Six riders completed.
Jackie & Graham Brodie, Kevin Presland,
Kevan Fleckney, Chris Bennett and Mike Taylor.

The idea was to follow the Torbay boundary
as closely as possible, around 35 miles starting from Kingskerswell, and going around the coast, via Maidencombe, Meadfoot and Torquay to Brixham, stopping at the old CTC meeting points on the way round.
In the 50's the Torbay CTC used to meet at the big tree near Goodrington, so after stopping at the cafe at Paignton Harbour we called in at the Big Tree for a Photo. Berry Head for lunch and then home via Galmpton, Stoke Gabriel, and finishing at Five Lanes.
At the start - lashing down.
Steeper than it looks.
Torquay Seafront - a washout.
Big Tree near Goodrington. Old CTC meet.

5-Lanes Marldon. The other old CTC meet.
